Article Comments for by David Craddock Summary: I can only guess that playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is a lot like playing Pebble Beach might be for Tiger. He knows the layout of each green, knows where to putt, can identify every sand trap, knows when to pull back, when to fade to the left, and can even predict his final score. For those that have ever played a Tiger game before, this will all be familiar to you, as well.

If you played Tiger last year, or the year before, or even the year before, you've already played Tiger 08. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Not sure if any one pointed this out about the putting yet, but i will.

The glitch is not that at all. The problem is this editor is an idiot. The system is made so that on an ideal putting service (perfectly flat) with no slant left or right, or up or down the shot preview will show you where to aim, which is straight with your cursor telling you the percentage of putter strength to use. Now if any of these factors come into play, it is you mind's ability to compensate and compute the math for the shot you are to make that is the deciding factor. This fact is not just with the putting but every shot in the game.

If your lie is on a hill to your back (for right handed golfers) then you must aim left of your mark to compensate as the ball will float to the right. Now if there is wind then that to will need consideration for the direction it blows. Hope this helps some of you that have trouble shooting and lands you those -20s scores you think someone else is cheating to get. Sorry this explanation is so long.

I think '08 is a touch more difficult than the previous versions. Even on 'balanced' difficulty, I'm slicing and hooking more than I ever have. Maybe this is just a function of a poorly skilled 'rookie' golfer who will make the yearly meteoric rise to 'legend,' but I don't remember having this much of a hard time starting out before. Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. I did notice a little glitch right off the bat when I tried to switch thumbsticks at the practice range. First off, you can't actually change the control scheme on the range, or in any of the game modes that I've tried - you must back out to the main menu and make the necessary changes. That's not the glitch, though - the glitch is that if you back out and make said changes, then try to load the same game mode you were just in, the changes don't take effect.

Even after a save. Apparently, that game mode is still loaded up so that you won't have to wait through another loading screen to get back - a nice thought, but untidily executed.

Of course, once you've settled on a control scheme, it may never be an issue again. Other than that, I'll take a few new courses and a couple new bells and whistles. I miss fantasy courses and Tiger-proofing, but this is still good for many entertaining hours on the links. RE this question Please when someone gets this tell me if you can go online with 2 players on one Xbox 360 then lets say 1 player on another xbox 360 over xbox live and the 4th player on xbox live on another xbox 360 thank you for the help! This would be great fun for my friends and I some live out of state but the one guy can not afford the 360 yet so he comes over for gaming nights.

Well I did not wait and went out last night and bought the game traded in 3 other games at GameStop so far I think it only allows 4 players either on the same box or one each on a box over live for a total of 4 so yet again im let down by an EA game I mean this is cool and all but why they did not design it for at least 2 on the same box is dumb! The question that I've got is this: Is the PS2 version any closer to the 360 and PS3 versions that it was last year? I was shocked and surprised when I played my friend's 360 game last year and rushed out to buy it for PS2, only to find that it was completely substandard. Yes, I know that to a certain extent it has to be, given the hardware limitations, but there were very few features between the two that were common.

Let's not also forget that online play with 2k7 was horrible. Are these things fixed with this year's edition? I don't want to go and spend $40 on this game, only to find out that all of the same problems are still there. It's interesting how many people here hate EA.

Let's break it down. Tiger Woods - do you know any other golf game that is even worth your money?? Kudos to EA for making the only worthwhile golfing game. (OK, so Mario Golf was fun, but until a Wii version comes out, this one takes the cake) Madden - the best selling NFL series out there. You can go out and enjoy your All Pro Football and play with a bunch of old time players on fantasy teams, I'll take the real deal thank you. NHL - for any of you that say it's the same game obviously you didn't play 07. The skill stick absolutely 100% changed the game.

2K7 was nothing compared to 07. Sure it was a little tricky to play at first, but once you got the hang of it, there was no going back. The control you have over the player and puck was unbelievable. FIFA - I'm not a soccer fan so I can't really comment, but most people seem to like the FIFA franchise as a whole. It's either that or Winning Eleven NBA Live - This year's mode is shaping up to look very good. We will have to wait and see for sure.

But so far so good. What do you expect. When games are released every year, you can't honestly expect a brand new game with new mechanics every time. EA takes what already works from previous versions and tries to build on the weaker parts. In this example, they took what worked well with Tiger, and tried to refine some of the other areas. But get over yourself.

Just because most of the sports games are made by EA Sports Canada, doesn't mean you have to hate us up here. J/k If you like the games, buy em, if not. Simple as that.

What's interesting to me, is that there's a whole other thread about EA not releasing the games it said it would, too. Yet, from what I read and subsequently found, you can download (illegally) a leaked version of Cider on bittorrent, and there are TONS of Windows games on bittorrent now that have used cider to run on Macs.

This has been done by normal people on their own free time. For the record I'm not saying go steal Cider nor have I (PPC iBook, no use for it) but what I'm trying to say, is how come all these games have been ciderized by a few people in their free time, and a HUGE company like EA can't assign one or two people to ciderize a few of these games? Looks to me like Mac users are being outright SHAFTED by EA, and quite frankly I see this as horribly horribly insulting. Click to expand.4 of 6 EA games just came out for Macs. Unfortunately, they will not work on Macbooks. All Macbooks have intel GMA950 integrated graphics cards.

Apple.com specifically says: 'Note: This game does not support the GMA950 integrated graphics card. ' These 4 were released by EA games, not EA Sports division, hopefully it will be different for Madden and Tiger. I did find, in a different forum, that Madden 2007 for Windows will work with the GMA950. I don't think that they really changed the game much, so it might work. I am in the same spot.

I want to play Madden, but I have a Macbook. If if won't work, install bootcamp and buy Madden 2007 for Windows.
